OKC Bridal Fair 2012

The best way to relax after a long week at work is to just goof off a bit. Some people might think that a Bridal Fair would be a very strange place to do this, and maybe in some areas it was…but I had more fun today meeting newly engaged brides, taking goofy pictures, and hanging out with some of the best girlfriends in the world than I have had in a long time!  It’s nice to be able to just smile and have a great time.

Thanks to all the amazing prospective brides that stopped by today…you made the day so much fun!

More from Mr. and Mrs. Dodge…

Since this lovely couple loves to dance, I thought I would dedicate a video to them that makes ME want to dance.  Enjoy!

Mr. and Mrs. Dodge…

Welcome to Minnesota where the skies are clear, the air is crisp, and 15 degrees is warm.

My only comfort was that most of the groomsmen were also from Oklahoma, where I live, so they thought it was cold outside, too.  The bride?  In her beautiful strapless white wedding dress?  Oh, no.  It’s practically warm outside.  Ok.  So I just needed to be tough and trek outdoors to get some beautiful blue firs in the background.  I can do this.

All joking aside, my trip to Minnesota to photograph this awesome couple’s wedding was such a fun weekend.  I will forever look back on it as one of the most enjoyable weddings I have ever photographed.  There is not much better than being included with the family, getting to be a part of the rehearsal dinner.  The Dodges have been very dear to my heart for a long time, so the question of traveling all the way to the North Pole was not a question at all.  But who can refuse to be a part of such a wonderful family?  And I may or may not have even taken off all the photography equipment at the end of the night and just joined in on a few choice dances…with the bride and groom….

The Williams Family {Oklahoma City Portrait Photographer}

Lori and I had been trying to get together to take family pictures for their Christmas cards for weeks.  Literally.  With Oklahoma weather, you never know what one day will be like compared to the next.  We passed up a few days with brutal wind only to find the next few opportunities hurdled by frigid temps.  Finally, we decided that if these cards were going to happen, they had to happen…now.  So, we met up at her husband’s church (Lifechurch.tv Midwest City) to get a few fun family photos.  So, needless to say, these photos may seem a bit different than my usual outdoor photos.  But, considering the temps and brutal wind, I think they turned out rather great.  Of course, it really helps when you have such a good-looking family to work with.  Here’s to another session soon!

And here is their Christmas Card.  They were printed on pearlized paper, which just made the colors absolutely pop.  I loved them.

To Brighten Your Christmas Holidays…because it did mine.

I was so excited to do these photos last week.  When Brandon and Emily told me about their idea, I think I almost jumped and danced out of excitement.  I learned a lot about Christmas lights, awesome band music, how to find a house in a neighborhood where addresses are insanely weird, and dogs who are trying so hard to stay in their “place” that they are shaking with excitement.  But that’s for a different blog entirely…..

Merry Christmas!
